After your session, which hopefully was full of laughter and smiles and beautiful light, I start the post editing process. [Check out this post on what to expect prior to your photo session.] Right when I get to my laptop, I import the photos from the camera so I have multiple copies of the photos.
Culling & Editing
I spend time culling (fancy term for sorting, selecting, choosing) and begin processing and editing your images. I remove any blurry photos, unintentional blinks and test shots from the whole group and select the best photos to start editing.
I am a natural photographer and chose to enhance the contrast for deeper and richer yet vibrant colors as close to natural as possible. There are many styles of edits and each photographer has a preference or style that they gravitate towards.
Gallery & Delivery of Photos
Depending on the season (fall is busy season for family photos), I will have your photos edited, processed and delivered to you via Pass Gallery within 2 weeks. You receive all of the processed digital files and the option to print or upload to social media as you please.
After I finish editing your photos, I upload those to a gallery site called Pass Gallery. Pass Gallery sends an email with the viewable link and will guide you through the site upon first visit.
Downloading Your Photos
I recommend downloading the entire gallery to your own computer so you have copies of the photos saved where you can continually find them. Don’t worry! I backup all of my photos on external hard drives so if there is a need in the future, I have the originals.
Pass Gallery has 2 download options of your photos – the first option is High-Res, which are ready for printing or ordering a canvas. These images are high quality and typically large files. The second option is Web-Size, which is friendlier for downloading to your phone and for uploading to social media.
I can provide a Photo Print Release for you to use when printing your images. Some places are more strict than others when it comes to printing professional photos. So keep the print release option handy, if you are asked for it when trying to print your photos.
Check out this post for a comprehensive list of place to print your photos and photo products.
Social Sharing
I may share a few images on my photography Instagram and would like to highlight a few images (or a lot of images!) from your session on a blog post or gallery here on the website. I will ask you for permission to share your photos online and am working on automating a formal process.
Please let me know if you have any questions on the post-session process or if I can clarify any step. I look forward to capturing your wonderful family.
